Why do AI PNGs contain my prompt?

Stable Diffusion WebUI saves a “parameters” text chunk with the prompt, negative prompt, seed, sampler and model. ComfyUI stores the full node graph in “prompt” and “workflow” chunks. Anyone who opens the file can read them.

Are pixels or transparency affected?

No. Only ancillary metadata chunks are dropped; IHDR, PLTE, tRNS, IDAT, gamma/color chunks and animation chunks (APNG) are copied unchanged.
