What is an AI metadata remover?

It is a tool that deletes the hidden data AI image generators and editing apps store inside a picture file. That includes fields such as the IPTC DigitalSourceType value “trainedAlgorithmicMedia”, the name of the app that created the image, prompts and seeds saved by Stable Diffusion or ComfyUI, and C2PA Content Credentials. The visible image is not changed.

Can I remove C2PA metadata?

Yes, from JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and HEIC files. Embedded C2PA manifests are deleted wherever they are stored in the file. Doing so breaks the original digital signature. Some images only point to an online manifest through an XMP field; remove XMP too to drop that link.

Does this remove invisible AI watermarks?

Accepted Answer

No. Invisible watermarks like Google SynthID are woven into the pixels, not stored as metadata. Because this tool leaves pixels untouched, those watermarks stay in the image. We will never claim otherwise.

Will removing metadata remove the AI label on Instagram or other platforms?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily. Platforms can also rely on invisible watermarks, image classifiers, account signals and the label you add yourself, and many require you to disclose realistic AI content. Removing metadata removes metadata — nothing more. Please follow each platform’s rules.
