XMP (Extensible Metadata Platform) is an XML-based metadata format created by Adobe. It can hold descriptions, keywords, ratings, editing history, rights information and IPTC fields such as DigitalSourceType.

Can I keep XMP but remove only some fields?

Yes — in Selective mode, untick “XMP metadata” and tick GPS, Date & time, Software or Camera instead. Matching XMP properties are removed while the rest of the packet is kept.

XMP Metadata Remover

XMP is where editing apps keep history, creator tools, ratings and the IPTC DigitalSourceType field. Read the raw packet, then remove it without touching the image.
